Stevenson, Skamania County, WA, USA-For release March 27, 2020

Dog Mountain Shuttle Cancelled for 2020 Season

In response to public health concerns for our community and our visitors, Skamania County Senior Services has cancelled the 2020 Dog Mountain Shuttle service.  In past years, the seasonal Dog Mountain Shuttle service provided public transit to hikers accessing the Dog Mountain Trailhead in order to prevent congestion and unsafe traffic conditions at the trailhead.

Currently, Skamania County Senior Services is complying with all local and state

COVID-19 response guidelines in order to keep our community safe and healthy.

We are working in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies to align with their measures directing people to stay home to save lives.  Skamania County has closed all hiking trails within the county and the US Forest Service has closed all National Forest System lands within the National Scenic Area, which includes the Dog Mountain Trailhead.

For these reasons, Skamania County Senior Services has cancelled the Dog Mountain

Shuttle for the 2020 season.

For comments, questions, or concerns, please call 509-427-3990 or email Sophie Miller at miller@co.skamania.wa.us.
