Infractions are tickets issued by law enforcement agencies for non-criminal offenses. Jail time cannot be imposed for infractions.

The information contained here is intended to address frequently asked questions. For more detailed information, please consult applicable laws and court rules. The District Court clerks may assist the parties with procedure but are not allowed to give legal advice. Those in need of legal advice should consult an attorney.

You have four options if you receive an infraction citation, which are described in detail below. These options also apply to non-Discover Pass Parking tickets.

  1. Payment
  2. Infraction Deferral
  3. Mitigation
  4. Contested

You MUST respond within 15 days or your citation may be found committed and referred to a collection agency. Traffic Infractions will have an additional $52.00 penalty added and be reported to DOL. Upon received notice of your failure to respond, DOL has the right to begin the process of suspending your license.

How to Respond to an Infraction Citation:

After receiving an Infraction, carefully read the options on the ticket. Responses must be submitted no later than midnight on the day the response is due.

Select one of the boxes on the ticket and be sure to verify your mailing address. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact the District Court office.

Please refer to the citation number at the top of the citation when contacting our office.
