Skamania County COVID-19 cases as of 5/26/2020:
Confirmed cases: 3
Deaths: 0

Through the Safe Start approach, counties with a population of less than 75,000 that have not had a new case of COVID-19 in the past three weeks can apply for a variance to move to Phase 2 of “Safe Start” before other parts of the state.  Skamania County has been approved for an early move to Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s plan for reopening Washington.

The governor’s office will provide industry-specific guidance and safety criteria for businesses listed in each phase of the plan. Business activities are not authorized to open until a business is able to meet all safety criteria. Guidance documents can be found here:

Coronoavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Coronoavirus Disease (COVID-19) is a new virus and the CDC is still learning how it spreads. The virus is thought to spread from person to person who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and/or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Our County offices are practicing social distancing to help prevent the possible spread of this virus. Staying at least six feet away from other people could potentially lessens your chances of catching COVID-19.

Skamania County, in conjunction with our community health partners have established a dedicated e-mail address to answer questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic or Government services for our county citizens. Our goal is to ensure timely and accurate information is available. If you have questions please utilize:
