Suspending the recycling of #2 plastics not including Milk Jugs.
(Milk Jugs are still accepted)
At this time Skamania County Solid Waste Division will be suspending the recycling of #2 plastics (#2 High density polyethylene (HDPE) – commonly used for shampoo/toiletry bottles, laundry detergent bottles, household cleaning product and medicine bottles.). The recycling facilities in the Northwest are no longer accepting the materials that are considered a #2 plastic. This change in operation leaves our Transfer Stations to no longer have the resources and abilities of recycling #2 plastics. The Skamania County Solid Waste Division will continue to investigate any other options to be able to offer a new resolution for this change. This change does not impact the common clear milk containers.
