People who attended Living Faith Church may have been exposed to COVID-19

Published Date: Monday, May 3, 2021

Skamania County Community Health has linked 19 positive cases of COVID-19 to Living Faith Church and have been unable to identify how many people may have been exposed while attending church services at Living Faith Church during the month of April 2021. Those that may have been exposed to COVID-19 should quarantine immediately. The last known date that an infectious individual may have exposed others at the church was April 25, 2021.

Church attendees, who are not fully vaccinated, should quarantine for 14 days from their most recent visit to Living Faith Church. Individuals in quarantine should stay home and avoid all contact with anyone who is not a household member. They should not go to work, attend church, or visit any public places, such as grocery stores.

Public Health will continue to call all those identified as close contacts of a positive case and provide additional information about quarantine and available support services. Anyone who has questions can contact Public Health at 509.427.3850.

Public Health recommends all close contacts call their health care providers and request testing for COVID-19, even if they do not have symptoms. Close contacts should quarantine for 14 days, regardless of the test result. Anyone who develops symptoms during the 14-day quarantine, even if they tested negative earlier, should be tested for COVID-19.

COVID-19 symptoms can develop two to 14 days after exposure and may include cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills or repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.

Everyone should take steps to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect themselves and others from getting sick. COVID-19 vaccines are the most effective way to prevent infection. Face coverings should be worn in all public places and anytime people are gathering with others from outside of their household. Individuals should practice physical distancing whenever they are around others and avoid gatherings or keep gatherings small (less than 10 people).

Remember to wash hands frequently, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching your face with unwashed hands, frequently disinfect high-touch surfaces and stay home when sick.
