RESOLUTION 2025-27

(Establishing Legal Holidays for 2026)

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to RCW 1.16.050 and Skamania County Code Chapter 2.48 Personnel Provisions, Skamania County shall observe certain days as legal holidays for the calendar year 2026 in observance of the event, individual, or official noted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that offices that are on a four-day work week, Monday through Thursday, shall be closed on the following days/dates:

                        Thursday                      January 1^st                    New Year’s Day

                        Monday                        January 19^th                  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

                        Monday                        February 16^th                President’s Day

                        Monday                        May 25^th                       Memorial Day

                        Thursday                      June 18^th                       Juneteenth (observed)

                        Thursday                      July 2^nd                         Independence Day (observed)

                        Monday                        September 7^th                Labor Day

                        Wednesday                   November 11^th              Veterans Day  

                        Thursday                      November 26^th              Thanksgiving Day

                        Thursday                      December 24^th               Christmas Day (observed)

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that offices that are on a five-day work week, Monday through Friday, shall be closed on the following days/dates:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following collective bargaining units shall observe holidays as set forth in their respective agreements.

            Skamania County Law Enforcement Guild

            OPEIU Local 11 Public Works Unit

            OPEIU Local 11 Managers Unit

            OPEIU Local 11 Community Health Unit

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that non-represented employees who work 10-hour days shall have the ten paid holidays as noted in the first section of this resolution, as well as one personal holiday, and employees working 8-hour days shall have eleven paid holidays as noted in section two, as well as one personal holiday.
