NUTRITION PROGRAMS
Program Overview:
Skamania County Senior Services provides two nutrition programs — Congregate Meals and Home Delivered Meals.
Congregate Meal Program:
This is the oldest and most popular program and is aimed at person over age 60 who are physically and emotionally able to benefit from a social setting. Noon meals are served Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Rock Creek Center in Stevenson. The program provides older adults with a hot, nutritious meal and an opportunity to socialize. It is also a time to enjoy games, music, and arts and crafts and to participate in nutrition and health education and entertainment programs.
Home Delivered Meal Program:
For persons who are homebound and have special long-term or emergency needs, meals are delivered to your house. A hot meal is delivered to eligible persons in the Stevenson and Carson area on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Frozen meals are provided in other areas and for days when hot meals are not available.
