RESOLUTION 2001 - 76
(Setting Current Expense and County Road Property Tax Levies for 2002)
WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners has properly given notice of public hearings held December 20, 2001 to consider Skamania County’s tax levies, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120, and the Budget for the 2002 calendar year; and
WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners, after hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, has determined that Skamania County requires an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the Current Expense Fund and County Road Fund and in the best interest of Skamania County:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that $1,213,143 was levied from the Current Expense levy in 2001and that an increase in the regular property tax levy for 2002 to $1,225,274 be levied which is an increase of $12,131 and one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2001. Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $980,962 was levied from the County Road levy in 2001 and that an increase in the regular property tax levy for 2002 to $990,772 be levied which is an increase of $9,810 and one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2001. Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected.

The Skamania County Board of Commissioners is proposing an increase in the Current Expense regular property tax levy for 2002 to $1,225,274 which is an increase of $12,131 and the Board is also proposing an increase in the County Road regular property tax levy for 2002 to $990,772 which is an increase of $9,760
.
These proposed levies are one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2001. Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected for both levies.
