RESOLUTION 2001-32
(Designating the County Individual to Receive Claims Served upon Skamania County)
WHEREAS, current statute requires claims to be served on the legislative body (Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners); and
WHEREAS, the Governor signed into law Chapter 119, Laws of 2001 on April 27, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the passage of this law now requires counties to designate an agent and address to receive claims.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that any claim served upon Skamania County shall first be served upon the legislative body’s Clerk of the Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Skamania County Auditor is the designated Clerk of the Board for Skamania County at Skamania County Courthouse, 240 NW Vancouver Avenue, Room 27, Stevenson, WA 98648; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the absence of the Clerk of the Board, a claim shall then be served upon the Deputy Skamania County Auditor; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that Chapter 119 of the Laws of 2001 does not amend the statute that requires all lawsuits to be served upon the Skamania County Auditor.
