RESOLUTION 2001 – 22

(Designating a County Engineer for Skamania County)

 

WHEREAS, RCW 36.80.010 requires the legislative authority of each county with a population of eight thousand or more to employ a full-time county road engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, the county road engineer shall examine and certify to the board all estimates and all bills for labor, materials, provisions and supplies with respect to county roads, prepare standards of construction of roads and bridges, and perform such other duties as may be required by order of the Board of Commissioners and the county road engineer shall have supervision, under the direction of the board, of establishing, laying out, constructing, altering, improving, repairing and maintaining all county roads of the county; and perform other such county road engineer duties specified in the Revised Code of Washington;

 

WHEREAS, RCW 36.80.020 requires the county road engineer be a registered and licensed professional civil engineer under the laws of this state, duly qualified and experienced in highway and road engineering and construction and that he serve at the pleasure of the Board; and

 

WHEREAS, Norman B. Holman meets the qualifications for county road engineer and the Board desires to employ Norman B. Holman as Skamania County’s county road engineer;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that Norman B. Holman is hereby employed full time as Skamania County’s county road engineer to perform the above listed duties in his position as Skamania County Public Works Director/County Engineer; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be forwarded to the Washington State County Road Administration Board.
