Resolution No. 2001-16

 

(Amending Small Works Resolutions 1996-46 and 1999-07)

 

 

WHEREAS, Skamania County adopted Resolution 1996-48 establishing small works roster policy and procedures for Skamania County and amended said resolution through 1999-07; and

 

WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature in Chapter 138, Laws of 2000, amended the laws regarding contracting for public works by municipalities, allowing certain contracts to be awarded by a small works roster process; and

 

WHEREAS, the County wishes to incorporate these amendments into its Small Works roster policies and procedures; and

 

WHEREAS, the County wishes to modify the format and clarify certain language in the policies and procedures; and

 

WHEREAS, County has determined that the increase in the maximum dollar limit from $100,000 to $200,000 for public works projects is in the public’s best interest; and

 

WHEREAS, the County desires to change the number of publications of the notice of the existence roster and solicitation of names of contractors that may provide work or services from two to one; and

 

WHEREAS, the County is required to make available at least once every year to the Board of Commissioners and to the public upon request a list of the contracts awarded under the small works roster.  The list shall contain the name of the contractor awarded the contract, the amount of the contract, a brief description of the type of work performed under the contract, and the date it was awarded; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Skamania County has reviewed and hereby approves the amendments to the policies and procedures of the Public Works Department and finds that they comply with and implement the provisions of R.C.W. 39.04,  R.C.W. 36.32.235, R.C.W. 36.32.250, and R.C.W. 36.77.075.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of Skamania County, Washington, hereby amends Resolution 1996 – 48 and Resolution 1999-07 by adopting  Attachment A of this resolution, entitled  “Skamania County Policies and Procedures:  Small Works Roster” as the amended policies and procedures for the Small Work Roster for Skamania County.
