RESOLUTION 2001 - 02

(Amending Resolution 1996-27 to increase settlement authority of the

county risk manager and prosecuting attorney)

WHEREAS, Resolution 1996-27 authorized the county risk manager and the prosecuting attorney to settle without Board approval claims against Skamania County involving amounts less than $5,000; and

WHEREAS, the deductible for the counties liability insurance coverage has increased from $5,000 to $10,000 per claim; and

WHEREAS, the Board would like to proportionately raise the limit for which the risk manager and the prosecuting attorney can settle claims from five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) to ten thousand ($10,000.00).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Skamania County Commissioners hereby amends Resolution 1996-27 increasing the settlement authority of the Skamania County Risk Manager and the Prosecuting Attorney to evaluate and pay valid claims against Skamania County to $10,000); and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that except as herein modified, all of the terms of Resolution referred to above are hereby reaffirmed.
