UPDATE – Wind River Sno-Parks Information Page

The Upper Wind River Recreation Area will be accessible during the 2011-2012 Winter Recreation Season.

Skamania County, USFS and Washington State Parks have found the short-term solution to gain access to this popular winter recreation area for this season.  Title II funds from the USFS and Washington State Parks have pooled their resources to fund the plowing of  the Wind River Road up to the Koshko Sno-Park.   Sno-parks beyond Koshko will not be plowed to stretch these funds out for as long as possible.

Koshko Sno-park will be for motorized and non-motorized use while Old Man Pass will be utilized for non-motorized users only.  The sledding hill will be for the sno-play users only.

The Wind River Road will be closed at MP 26.1 (Koshko Sno-park) to allow snowmobiles to access the Lone Butte Area;  Curly Creek Road MP 0.00-5.14 will be closed.

On the downside, when these funds are gone, the area will be closed for the remainder of the season.
