PROVIDING A VICTIM/WITNESS PROGRAM

Each Defendant convicted in Skamania County is ordered to pay a fee that helps fund a Crime Victim program within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office. 

Program support includes:

Direct communication with victims and witnesses of crime;

Referrals to other agencies and programs such as the Department of Labor and Industries Crime Victim Compensation program, Department of Corrections Victim Services Program  and the crisis clinic;

Assistance answering questions and/or completing paperwork ;

Coordinating with the Department of Corrections on case tracking and victim location; victim notification, and at times, provide transportation and/or support for victims and witnesses to be present at court hearings.
