Chief Deputy Prosecutor
Salary $6,377.00-$6,964.00 DOQ per month.  Excellent benefit package.

Skamania County is seeking a qualified Chief Criminal Prosecuting Attorney  skilled in prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the Prosecuting Attorney in the Superior court, court of Appeals, and Supreme Court as well as representing the State in juvenile criminal matters, civil non-support proceedings and criminal violations of County Ordinances and State Law.  The applicant will be responsible for the overall supervision of the operations of the Criminal Division of the County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Education and Experience:  Requires Graduate of Law school accredited by the American Bar Association and must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.  Must have a minimum of four years of felony jury trial experience.  Supervisory experience is required.

MECHANIC
Salary $3,599.00-$3,930 DOQ per month.  Excellent benefit package.

Skamania County is seeking a qualified applicant to perform skilled preventative and restorative maintenance of the County's fleet and shop equipment, including inspecting, diagnosing, overhauling, repairing and maintaining gasoline, diesel and mechanical equipment and machinery such as backhoes, graders, automobiles, dump trucks, pumps (including water, hydraulic, and air pumps), generators, and air compressors.  May perform some arc and gas welding and fabricating of parts.  Performs repairs in the field as required.  Performs duties associated with the repair and maintenance of County roads as required.

Education and Experience Requires Four (4) years of mechanical experience in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel automotive, and road construction and/or maintenance vehicles/equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. 

Requires a valid state driver's license, possession of or ability to obtain a valid CPR and First Aid Card and Flaggers card.

Requires a valid Class A State Commercial driver's license with endorsements or the ability to attain such within six months of employment.

HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST
Salary $3,759.00-$4,105 DOQ per month.  Excellent benefit package.

Skamania County is seeking qualified applicants to provide a variety of complex and technical administrative and clerical human resource duties related to the efficient operation of the department often in a confidential nature.    Requires an understanding of the departmental functions and procedures as well as individual initiative in carrying out assignments with minimal instruction and supervision.  Requires a considerable amount of contact with county personnel, the general public and other program entities.  Requires good customer service skills  along with excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education and Experience Requires an Associates degree with major course work in business, law, personnel or closely related field and five (5) years experience performing duties at a similar level or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides seven (7) years.

PART TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Salary $18.25 per hour

Skamania County is seeking qualified applicants to provide a variety of complex and technical administrative and clerical duties related to the efficient operation of the department often in a confidential nature.  This is a part-time position.  Requires good customer service and multi line phone skills  along with good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.  The position requires some policy writing, developing, amending and training for all employees.  Working with Medical vendors and retirees for payments.  Knowledge of Health Insurance benefits and coverage is desireable.

Education and Experience Requires an Associates degree in related field and three (3) years experience performing duties at a similar level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PUBLIC WORKS ASSISTANT  COUNTY ENGINEER
Salary:  $6,098 - $6,659 depending on qualifications

Skamania County is seeking qualified applicants to provide professional level engineering and administrative work for the Road Division of the Skamania County Public Works Department including leadership and participation in engineering design and construction, right-of-way acquisition, and project management.  Application of professional engineering principles and techniques in the interpretation and enforcement of laws, regulations and County policies regarding road design and construction, right-of-way acquisition and project management.  Provides direction supervision of technical staff.  Reports to Public Works Director/County Engineer. 

Education and Experience Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering Program, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and a minimum of two (2) years engineering experience, including supervisory experience.

Washington Professional Civil Engineer License preferred or the ability to obtain within two (2) years.
