Recreation Programs

Facilities & Recreation strives to provide programming for youth, adults and seniors.  We offer a variety of fitness, community education and hobby related classes throughout the year.

For specific information, please use the tabs to your left and you will be re-directed to the programming information of your choice.  A complete listing of all fitness, community education and special programming is available in the current edition of our Recreation Guide.

Please note:  in an effort to conserve resources, we have elected to publish our guide in an “online only” format.  For our customers who reside in rural areas, and have “dial up” only internet, please feel free to stop in at the Facilities & Recreation Office for a printed version.

Do you need “at a glance” scheduling information?  Check out our dedicated Fitness Programming page (use the tab to your left) for the most up to date class schedules and program information.

Facilities and Recreation is LOOKING FOR FITNESS INSTRUCTORS.  Do you posses enthusiasm and skills to teach a program?  We would like to meet you!  We offer  beautiful facilities, flexible hours, and competitive contracts.  Classes are a great way to bring in extra revenue while doing something you love.  Contact us, today!

Programming Fee Schedule

Facilities & Recreation has been looking at ways to improve our programming and make providing it more efficient.  In recent weeks, we have begun the process to add new classes,  adjust current programming (based on participant input) and make our overall system fun and inspiring!!

Because we greatly value the participants in our programs, we would like to take this opportunity to share a few important changes that are coming your way.    Many of these changes will occur gradually, and some have specific implementation dates.

As many of you are aware, Skamania County is facing some difficult budget decisions.  Rather than eliminating programming we have elected to work directly with Instructors to continue our programming.   It is our hope that an adjustment in the way we provide programming and a slight adjustment in participation fees will lessen the overall impact.

Beginning November 1st, Instructors will set their own participation fees.  Fitness Passes (Platinum/Gold/Silver) will no longer be available, but fees may be “pre-paid” at the Facilities & Recreation office.  In addition, flexible “Fitness Bucks” may be purchased and used with all Instructors that work with our department.

We welcome questions and feed back about our programming and fees.  Please feel free to call us at 509-427-3980 or email us at parks@co.skamania.wa.us
