About Us

The General Services Department maintains and operates all of the buildings, facilities, parks, campgrounds and boat launches that are owned by Skamania County.  The buildings and other facilities include: the Courthouse Campus buildings and grounds, Hegewald Center, the transfer stations, community centers, fairgrounds, trailer dump stations, county wells, and the Wind River Business Park. In addition to maintenance of parks, building and grounds, the Department provides recreation programs, events and cultural services to enhance the health and livability of Skamania County and to assist in promoting tourism.  The Department oversees the annual Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival and The Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival.

Our Staff

Scott Pineo, Director has worked with the County since 2005 and has forty years of experience in Parks and Recreation Management.  Scott currently serves as a Board Member with the Stevenson-Carson School District # 303 and as Chair of the Skamania/Klickitat Community Network.  In his spare time he enjoys outdoor recreation and spending time with his family.

Ann Lueders, Manager of Programs & Administration is a lifelong resident of Skamania County who has worked with the department for the last 5 years.  In addition to her “day job” she works as Secretary for Fire District # 1 and serves as a Commissioner for the Cemetery District.  Ann enjoys camping, spending time with her family and participating in community activities.

Jennifer Jackson, Manager of Recreation & Cultural Events started with Skamania County in January 2008.  Stepping into a very diverse roll, Jennifer took the lead on managing the Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival during its 25th year in the Gorge, as well as the 100th Anniversary of the Skamania County Fair & Timber Carnival.  In addition to planning two of the largest events in our community, Jennifer backs up and assists in the daily operation of our department.  When not working, Jennifer enjoys running, Turbo Kicking, reading and spending time with her children and husband.
