The 2012 Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival boasts some of the biggest stars in bluegrass-Mark Phillips & IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band, Kenny and Amanda Smith, Della Mae and Josh Williams Band.  They join Runaway Train, The Sleepy-Eyed Johns and Foghorn String Band for the 29th annual event, July 26-29 on the Skamania County Fairgrounds in scenic Stevenson, WA, located just 45 minutes from Portland.

Look for the 2012 Show to carry on the traditions that make this festival one of the best Bluegrass events in the Northwest.  Long-time fans welcome back the Thursday night Jammer’s Jamboree, and evening dances with live music.  Again the event features instrument contests, guitar raffle, workshops for all ages including the Chick Rose Kid’s Academy, and jamming throughout.  Visitors will be treated to an assortment of fine craft and music related booths, delicious food, coffee and espresso, and micro brew beers, too.

Recent studies demonstrate a link between early music education and a higher level of life-long learning skills.  The Festival wishes to strengthen this bond and offer thanks to their supportive community by offering a portion of their sponsorship funding to the Stevenson High School Band program.

The Festival is proudly sponsored by Skamania County, The City of Stevenson, Skamania Lodge, Lagintas Brewing, and KBOO Radio.
