Washington State University Skamania County Extension
Skamania County is approximately 90% forested, with a like amount of land publicly owned and managed that includes geological highlights of Mount Saint Helens and the Columbia River Gorge. This amount of agricultural diversity amplifies the need for comprehensive education in these matters, as well as collaboration within the community to create a culture of life-long learning. Washington State University Extension offices aim to serve as a “front door” to the University. It extends non-credit education and degree opportunities to people and communities throughout the state, while encouraging the ability of individuals, organizations, businesses and communities. Extension is further recognized for the accessible, learner-centered, relevant, high quality, and unbiased educational curricula that fall under its “umbrella”. Some of these programs include 4-H, Forest Youth Success, and WSU Small Farms. For more information, please refer to http://www.skamania.wsu.edu/ |
