Emergency Preparedness and Response program

Emergency Preparedness and Response program focuses on preparing for and responding to incidents that pose a substantial risk to the health of Skamania County residents.

In the event of an emergency situation that impacts the health of the public, Skamania County Health Department will play an integral role in the local response and will coordinate with local, state and national agencies.  We also play an integral role in our region’s continued surveillance of reportable diseases and incidents of unexplainable illness.  Our staff is continually preparing and training in all aspects of emergency preparedness.

Communities throughout Skamania County are subject to a number of potential natural disasters such as fire, floods and severe storms.  Recent events have heightened awareness to the threat of man-made disasters.  Skamania County Public Health urges the residents of Skamania County to prepare for emergencies by developing a family emergency preparedness plan.
