NEW PERMIT CLEARANCE PROCESS: As of November 30, 2010 a new permit clearance process for all Building, Planning and Environmental Health permits is in effect.  All permits must have a current Site Analysis Level II (SALII) review completed for the property under development. SALII must be completed in advance of any other development permits.  For properties in the National Scenic Area, there is a combined NSA/SALII application to complete that combines the SALII review process and NSA review into one application.  SALII will determine planning issues such as legal lot determination, setbacks, zoning, etc… SALII will also identify critical areas on the property such as wetlands, shorelines, stream setbacks, landslide areas, etc… Having SALII done in advance will allow any future development hindrances to be clearly identified before development begins. More information is available under Skamania County New Permit Clearance Process. Site Analysis Level II Application (SALII) Combined NSA/SALII Application (Only for parcels within the National Scenic Area) Alternatively, Site Analysis Level I (SALI)can be used by property owners, real estate agents, and other interested parties for non-project actions, such as knowing what potential limits and/or development encumbrances may be on a property.  SALI provides a basic Critical Area review of a parcel and does not remove or replace the SALII permit clearance requirements.
