RESOLUTION 2007-53

 

(Adopting 2007 Skamania County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan)

 

WHEREAS, Skamania County is required by state law to adopt a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) to provide a structure for standardizing emergency management plans and procedures throughout the County and to facilitate interoperability between local, state, and federal governments; and

 

WHEREAS, Skamania County’s Department of Emergency Management has coordinated the update of the County’s 2004 CEMP to better ensure that Skamania County’s CEMP is compatible with the Washington State CEMPs, the National Response Plan (NRP) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Revised Code of Washington and other local, State and Federal regulations; and

 

WHEREAS, the CEMP is designed to help minimize the impacts of disasters and other emergencies in Skamania County by saving lives, protecting property, sustaining the economy, and preserving the environment; and

 

WHEREAS, this updated plan utilizes the format of the NRP, specifies the authorities, functions and responsibilities that pertain to establishing collaborative action plans between local, state, federal, volunteer and other public and private sector organizations, and contains detailed information on participant Emergency Support Functions as a single activity;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that the 2007 Skamania County Emergency Management Plan, as set forth in attachment “A” is hereby adopted; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board recognizes that this document will need to be tested, revised and updated as required to best meet the emergency response needs of Skamania County.
