RESOLUTION 2007-30

(In the Matter of allocating Federal Fiscal Year 2007 Title II and Title III funds of the Rural Schools and Community Self-determination Act of 2000 (P.L. 106-393))

WHEREAS, per Resolution 2001-58, Skamania County Board of Commissioners elected to receive as federal forest funds its full payment amount pursuant to Title 1, Section 102(a)(2) of the Rural Schools and Community Self-determination Act of 2000 (P.L. 106-393); and

WHEREAS, per Resolution 2001-58, Skamania County Board of Commissioners elected to allocate 15 percent of its full payment amount for expenditure on projects under Title II and Title III of P.L. 106-393, hereinafter referred to as “project funds”; and

WHEREAS, the Skamania County Board of Commissioners must decide to do one or more of the following with its project funds for each Federal Fiscal year in which funds are allocated under the Act:

A. Reserve funds for projects in accordance with Title II.

B. Reserve funds for projects in accordance with Title III.

C. Return funds to the General Treasury of the United States in accordance with section 402(b) of the Act.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that no funds be returned to the General Treasury of the United States in accordance with Section 402(b) of the Act and that the amount reserved for project funds for Federal Fiscal Year 2007 be allocated as follows:

Sixty percent (60%) of the project funds for Title II projects; and

Forty percent (40%) of the project funds for Title III projects.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution as rapidly as possible to the Washington State Association of Counties, who will submit the information to the Governor of the State of Washington, and to the Supervisor of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
