RESOLUTION 2005-60

(In the matter of establishment of restrictions on County Bridges.)

WHEREAS, RCW 36.75.270 and RCW 46.61.450, the Board of County Commissioners may, by resolution, restrict the size, weight, or speed which may be operated upon or over any such bridge; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the standards of good practice established by the County Road administration Board, WAC 136-20, the County Engineer has inspected the bridges on the county road system; and

WHEREAS, it is considered to be in the best interest for the safety of the traveling public to limit and post said bridges; and

WHEREAS, 1994 Resolution No. 818-A reclassified the Home Valley Park Bridge as “Emergency Use Only”;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that restrictions on Home Valley Park Bridge No. 301, located on Home Valley Park Road 30380 at MP .01 be reclassified from “Emergency Vehicle Use” to a “Pedestrian Use Only” bridge. These actions will include the removal of the bridge from the state rosters as a vehicle bridge and the installation of hardware to permanently prevent any vehicle use. Upon completion of the conversion and reclassification, the Skamania County Buildings and Grounds Department will provide all future maintenance in conjunction with the Skamania County Road Department.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall post Home Valley Park Bridge as required by law to advise the public of such restrictions.
