RESOLUTION 2005-54

(Amending Resolution 2005-29 and Resolution 2005-48 Appointing

Individuals in Each Department to Receive Public Records Requests)

 

 

WHEREAS, RCW 42.17.270 requires local agencies to appoint and publicly identify a public records officer whose responsibility is to serve as a point of contact for members of the public in requesting disclosure of public records and to oversee compliance with the public records disclosure requirement of this statute; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 42.17.270, the County is responsible for appointing a public records officer to receive public records requests; and

 

WHEREAS, on July 26, 2005 Skamania County Board of Commissioners appointed individuals to serve as records officers to receive public records requests on behalf of that department or office to serve as a point of contact for members of the public in requesting disclosure of public records and to oversee compliance with the public records disclosure requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, if a designated records officer in a department or office changes, a new records officer needs to be appointed;

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Skamania County Board of Commissioners appoints a new records officer for the Noxious Weed Control Department receive public record requests on behalf of that department or office to serve as a point of contact for members of the public in requesting disclosure of public records and to oversee compliance with the public records disclosure requirements:
