WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners has properly given notice of public hearings held December 13, 2004 to consider Skamania County’s tax levies, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120, and the Budget for the 2005 calendar year; and

WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners, after hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, has determined that Skamania County requires an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the Current Expense Fund and County Road Fund and in the best interest of Skamania County; and

WHEREAS, to meet the anticipated revenues from property taxes in the 2005 Skamania County Budget, adopted December _____, 2004, it is necessary to levy a 1% increase over the 2004 regular property taxes, plus the value of new construction and any increase in value of state assessed property;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that $1,328,650 was levied from the Current Expense levy in 2004 and that an increase in the regular property tax levy for 2005 to $1,341,943 be levied which is an increase of $13,293 and one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2004.  Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $1,060,748 was levied from the County Road levy in 2004 and that an increase in the regular property tax levy for 2005 to $1,071,355 be levied which is an increase of $10,607 and one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2004.  Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected.

PASSED IN REGULAR SESSION this 13th day of December 2004.

I _________________________ move to set the Current Expense regular property tax levy for 2005 at $1,341,943, which is an increase of $13,293 from 2004 and to set the County Road regular property tax levy for 2005 at $1,071,355, which is an increase of $10,607 from 2004.
