A joint resolution of the Boards of County Commissioners for Clark, Klickitat and Skamania Counties relating to the appointment of trustees to the Fort Vancouver Regional Library.
WHEREAS, in 1952 Clark County and Skamania County formed an Interrural Rural Library District; and
WHEREAS, in 1973, the Intercounty Rural Library District was expanded to include Klickitat County; and
WHEREAS, in 1981, the City of Vancouver annexed into the Intercounty Rural Library District; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 27.12.130 and 27.12.190, the Boards of County Commissioners of the participating counties within the Intercounty Rural Library District are to appoint a board of trustees through joint action; and
WHEREAS, Clark, Klickitat, and Skamania Counties have entered into an Interlocal Agreement setting forth the process for the appointment of trustees; and
WHEREAS, City of Vancouver’s representative Ellis Dunn’s term has expired, and he does not intend to seek re-appointment; and
WHEREAS, Jack Burkman has confirmed his acceptance of appointment of Position No. 5 as the City of Vancouver’s designee; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of County Commissioners of Clark, Klickitat and Skamania Counties to appoint Jack Burkman to Position No. 5 representing the City of Vancouver for a term terminating December 31, 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED AND RESOLVED by the Boards of County Commissioners of Clark, Klickitat and Skamania Counties, State of Washington, that Jack Burkman is hereby appointed to serve as trustee of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library as the City of Vancouver’s designee for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
