ORDINANCE NO. 2002-ญญ14
(An Ordinance Amending Section 2.44.020 of
Chapter 2.44, Title 2 of the Skamania County Code)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has learned from the County Auditor that due to changes in Congressional District lines, and other administrative matters, that there is a need to create new precincts, modify and/or clarify the legal descriptions of existing precincts and to rename a precinct; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINDED AND ESTABLISHED, pursuant to RCWs 29.04.040 and 29.04.050, Section 2.44.020 and 2.44.030 of Chapter 2.44, Title 2 of the Skamania County Code (Ordinance Nos. 1981-04, 1987-04, 1990-03, 1996-02, 1998-4 and 1999-05) be amended; and
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED, that the map and legal descriptions as set out in Exhibits A through C, attached hereto and by reference fully incorporated herein, be removed from Wind River Precinct and added to the newly created Shake Mill Prec inct; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED, that the map and legal descriptions as set out in Exhibits D through F, attached hereto and by reference fully incorporated herein, be removed from Hot Springs South Precinct and added to the newly created Sprague Landing Precinct; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED, that the map and legal descriptions as set out in Exhibits G through I, attached hereto and by reference fully incorporated herein, be removed from Wind River Precinct and added to Carson Creek Precinct; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINDED AND ESTABLISHED, that the map and legal description as set out in Exhibits J and K, attached hereto and by reference fully incorporated herein, a non populated area of the county southeast of the City of Stevenson be added to the Rock Creek Precinct; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINDED AND ESTABLISHED, that the precinct name of Lewis River/Spirit Lake be changed to Lewis River; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINDED, that the following precinct boundaries and legal descriptions be clarified as set out in Exhibits 1 through 19, attached hereto and by reference fully incorporated herein; Mt. Pleasant, Skye, Upper Washougal, Lewis River, Cape Horn, Skamania, Cascades, Nelson Creek, Maple View, North Stevenson, South Stevenson, Stabler, Hot Springs North, Wind Mountain North, Wind Mountain South, Chenowith North, Chenowith South, Underwood North, and Underwood South Precincts.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that this ordinance shall become effective upon its final adoption; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that except as herein modified, Ordinance Nos. 1981-04, 1987-04, 1990-03, 1996-02, 1998-04, 1999-05 and Chapter SCC 2.44 now codified under Title 2 of the Skamania County Code, are hereby affirmed in their entirety and remain in full force and effect.
