ORDINANCE NO. 2002-05

 

 (Amendment to Skamania County Code Title 10

Changes in Speed limits as Determined by Traffic Study)

 

WHEREAS, Skamania County has adopted the Washington Model Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 308-330 WAC; and

 

WHEREAS, Skamania County Code Chapter 10.04 established the speed limits for certain roads withiin the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Skamania County Engineer, after conducting a traffic study, has determined that the existing speed limits along certain roads (listed below) should be changed to enhance traffic safety and flow ; and

 

WHEREAS, the Skamania County Board of Commissioners finds that it is in the public’s interest to change the existing speed limits along:

 

(1)        Wind River Road #92135 beginning at Milepost 2.13 and ending at Milepost 4.00 as follows:

·        Milepost 2.13 to milepost 2.73-Reduce the speed limit from 50 mph to 40 mph.

·        Milepost 2.73 to milepost 4.00-Increase the speed limit from 50 to 55 mph.

 

(2)    Valley Drive #24600 milepost 0 to 0.10 (end) Establish a speed limit of 25 mph.

(3)    Maple Way #20600 milepost 0.07(City Limit) to 0.69. Increase the speed limit from 25 mph to35 mph.

 

BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED BY THIS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS FOLLOWS:  that the Skamania County Code 10.04.020 (ordinance numbers 1995-07, 1995-06, 1987-03, 1982-02, 1979-05) and 10.50.010 (Ordinance No. 1994-10) are amended as follows, and the following speed limits be implemented and posted as detailed herein:

 

(1)        Wind River Road #92135 beginning at Milepost 2.13 and ending at Milepost 4.00 as follows:

·        Milepost 2.13 to milepost 2.73-Reduce the speed limit from 50 mph to 40 mph.

·        Milepost 2.73 to milepost 4.00-Increase the speed limit from 50 mph to 55 mph.

 

(2)         Valley Drive #24600 milepost 0 to 0.10 (end) - Establish a speed limit of 25 mph.

 

(3)          Maple Way #20600 milepost 0.07 (City Limit) to 0.69. Increase the speed limit from 25 mph to35 mph.
