BOARD OF SKAMANIA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Meeting for Week of November 8, 2004

 

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Commissioner’s Meeting Room, 240 NW Vancouver Avenue in Stevenson, with Commissioners Quinn and Talent present, opening with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Sealed bids were opened for a prisoner transport vehicle for the Sheriff’s Department as follows and referred to the Public Works Department for review and recommendation.

1.       Ray Schultens Ford, The Dalles, OR        $33,916.46

2.       Cliff Smith Motors, Hood River, OR       $31,921.16

3.       Bud Clary Chevrolet, Longview, WA      $31,321.22

 

Commissioner Talent moved, seconded by Commissioner Quinn and motion carried to approve the Consent Agenda, as follows:

A.     Minutes for week of November 1, 2004.

B.     Set public hearing for 11:00 AM Monday, November 29, 2004 to receive public comment on community needs for low-income residents in Klickitat & Skamania Counties and the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Service funds.

C.     Set public hearing for 1:30 PM Monday, December 20, 2004 to consider a Shoreline Variance Application from Brad Wolverton to replace an existing 3-bedroom cabin with a 2-bedroom cabin on Lot 45 at Swift Creek Estates.

D.     Acknowledge receipt of letters regarding West End Community Comprehensive Subarea Plan from Richard & Marjorie Davis; Dean & Sandra Burk; Dale Bajema; and Karrie (Burns) Sadler & Adam Sadler.

E.      Notice of Completion of Public Works Contract from Lakeside Industries, Inc. for Wind River Road Grind & Overlay Project.

F.      Acknowledge submission of Aquatic Weeds Management Fund Grant Application to Dept of Ecology for Drano Lake Milfoil control.

 

Commissioner Talent moved, seconded by Commissioner Quinn and motion carried to approve a contract with Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to provide funding for snow plowing at Wind River Area Sno-Parks and Lone Butte Sno-Park for the 2004-2005 winter season.

 

The meeting recessed at 10:10 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 and reconvened at 3:00 p.m. the same date, with Commissioners Quinn and Talent present.

 

Commissioner Talent moved, seconded by Commissioner Quinn and motion carried to approve payroll for the period ending October 31, 2004 in the amount of $910,441.86.

 

The meeting recessed at 3:10 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 and reconvened at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2004, with Commissioners Quinn and Talent present.

 

Commissioner Talent moved, seconded by Commissioner Quinn and motion carried to approve vouchers for the period ending November 9, 2004 in the amount of $21,488.43.
