

COMMUNITY SERVICE Juvenile Offenders are often court ordered by the court or Community Accountability Board (CAB) to do community service hours within a certain time period. The Juvenile Probation Counselors will assign a site that is non-profit (i.e. churches, nursing homes, parks, food banks, state/county departments) and monitor the juveniles progress in completing their assigned hours. Community Service is generally held on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a half an hour break for lunch. To be excused from work crew, you must call no later than Friday at 1 pm with a valid reason to miss and this must be approved by the Juvenile Department. It is required for you to attend and complete your community service hours, this is not optional. It is necessary that you bring your own lunch. The crew will not be stop at a store for lunch items. It is also necessary that you wear comfortable and appropriate clothing, suitable for physical work outdoors. TANK TOPS, TUBE-TOPS, SHIRTS THAT DO NOT COVER YOUR STOMACH, NO UNDERWEAR SHOWING ABOVE THE PANTS, SHORTS, SWIMSUITS, AND SANDALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR EITHER BOYS OR GIRLS. If appropriate clothing is not worn, you will be sent home and consequences will be imposed.
