12/2/09 H1N1 vaccine update

We are back in business!

The Health Department just got a shipment of vaccine. Please feel free to come and get the H1N1 vaccination within the following priority groups:

·         6 months - 24 years old

·         Pregnant women

·         Health care workers

·         Care givers of less than 6-month-old infants

·         25-64 year olds with "chronic conditions" (asthma, diabetes, heart issues, compromised immune system)

H1N1 vaccination is no charge.

 

 Remember to continue to protect yourself from seasonal flu and H1N1 by:

Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.  Throw the tissue in trash after you use it.

 Wash your hands often with soap and water, alcohol based hand cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

Stay home if you are sick until at least 24 hours after you no longer have a fever or signs of a fever without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.

 Avoid close contact
