MEET THE STAFF

Skamania County Assessor
Gabe Spencer:
I’ve been a resident of
Skamania
County
for 30 years. It’s my job to ensure that there is an equal
distribution of all taxes collected in Skamania County. Besides
managing the office and representing the county, I also remain
involved in the appraisals and cadastral drafting of all property.
My wife Maria and I have three girls Isabella, Sofia and Tosca. We
have two labs and two cats that add to the chaos that we enjoy so
much. I also enjoy playing the piano and guitar.

Departmental Assistant
Ila “Mae”
Thompson: Public records officer and senior-disabled exemption
administrator. I also provide assistance to the Assessor and the
Administrative Assistant. I contribute on special projects, diverse
tasks and secretarial/accounting support to the Assessor’s Office. I
have worked for Skamania County for 34 years. I am married and live
in Carson with my husband Peter T. Thompson since 1974. I enjoy
family and friends, assisting with Charity work/Christmas Basket
Program/Assist in Running Club Races & Marathons. Antique/yard
sales/flowers.

Chief Deputy/Appraiser
Leslie Moore:
Real property
appraiser
Duties include physically inspecting real property for Ad Valorem
tax purposes, attending B.O.E hearings and helping with Exemption
programs. I live with my husband Jim and daughter Sara. We enjoy
camping, gardening and our 3 grandchildren.

Lead Appraiser
Amélie Gagné-Pjontek:
For the last couple of years, I have been working on getting my
certified residential appraiser license in
Washington
State.
I started with the Assessor’s Office in
August of 2008.
My duties here include physical inspections
and appraisals of local properties.
I am from
Québec, Canada and
my first language is French.
My husband’s career brought us to the
United States
in 2001.
We discovered Skamania
County a few years later
and built a house in
Carson.
In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding,
running, biking, hiking and reading.

Appraiser
Deana
Midland:
I have been a resident of Skamania County my entire life. I joined
the Assessors office in September of 2006. My goal is to become an
Appraiser. Currently, I am learning about how the office works,
taking appraisal classes and gaining field experience. I am married
and have three daughters. Our family is very active in our local
4-H. We also coach Girls Minor Softball.

GIS Coordinator
Rick Hollatz:
My duties include the
development and maintenance of a Geographic Information System (GIS)
serving several Skamania County departments and the general public.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with
my wife Nikki, son Hudson, and black lab Kazi.
I also enjoy hiking, biking, skiing,
snowboarding, kiteboarding, climbing and various
other types of recreation.
