Leadership Council 6/9/08
Meeting called to order by Bev Gadbaw at 7:00 followed by the Flag Salute and Pledge.
Present: Bev Gadbaw, Ben Sizemore, Sherril Allen, Brandy Audette, Sally Mansur, D’Anna Miller, Larry Sampson, Deborah Mansfield, Kay Day, Connie Higdon, Carol Adams, Dawn McDow, Brenda Wade and Ole Helgerson.
Secretary Report: Minutes from last meeting 5/12/ 08 were approved as read.
Treasures Report: Sally gave checks to Bev Gadbaw for deposit including one from the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. The bank statement was also given to Bev.
Office Report: Horse camp money will now be shown as a line.item under leader’s council. There are some money making opportunities for clubs coming up: At the Outriggers and Blue Brew events they will pay for cleaning of the bathrooms and other services. Sally read a request for a 1st year rider to change horses for fair, the request was put to a vote and passed.

Livestock:
Horse: Due to a large number of horses signed up for fair and not being allowed to set up outside stalls the decision was made for Juniors to show on Monday before fair. A proposal was presented for kids that will eliminate having to show in a performance class if they are only doing gaming at fair; this was tabled and will be voted on at the next meeting. Horse schedule for fair was turned in by Kay.
Teen: No report.
Horse Camp report: Dressage will be introduced at camp this year. Logo for camp is “Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats”
Old Business: Bev paid back the money that was lent from Leaders council to purchase the material for the horse state decorations. Fair work day August 2nd: Horse kids 8-12 or 1-5pm, Livestock kids 9-12 or 12-3pm. Trophies:
New Business: The Gorge Open Gaming forms are available on the
D’Anna Miller announced that interested 4-H groups in Clark and Skamania for shooting sports are now looking at joining with the NRA since the state has cancelled leaders training. It looks as though the groups will not have state support in our area at this time.
Fair Board Report: Larry reports that the fair has new scales now that are digital. There is going to be an apple pie contest on Saturday and a chili cook off on Sunday this year.
